Lotus 72/72C/72D/72E/72F (1970-75)

In the early 1970s the Lotus 72 revolutionised Formula 1 car design and was the first to have air intakes on the side of the body. After a slightly shakey start the Lotus 72 powered Jochen Rindt to his postumous World Championship.

It turned out to be the most successful Formula 1 car ever with twenty race wins. The Lotus 72 raced for six years (!) and won three Constructor's Championships. The Gold Leaf livery was used in the 1970-71 seasons with the Lotus 72 in B, C and D configurations.

Not quite as stunning as the JPS livery...
